Los Angeles, CA — The popular 1980s glam heavy metal band Poison has announced a long overdue reunion tour. But in a bizarre and unexpected twist, Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses will front vocals in place of Brett Michaels. This announcement marks an abrupt change in Mr. Rose’s plans, as he recently announced plans to tour and record with the iconic Australian hard rock band AC/DC who recently terminated their relationship with former lead singer Brian Johnson.
Guns N’ Roses who had their own reunion tour scheduled for this autumn which was expected to follow the AC/DC world tour also featuring Axl on lead vocals, are now on hold indefinitely according to a spokesperson for GNR. According to the press release, due to rising tension in each band, Axl thought it best to put the whole project on the shelf for now.
Poison front man Bret Michaels has been reclusive since his brain hemorrhage back in 2010. Poison has reached out to Michaels on many occasions, but has not received a response.
“It was a no brainer really, Axl is one of the best,” said Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille released a brief statement about bringing in Axl. “If Bret does not want anything to do with us, we move on without him.”
AC/DC has not yet released a statement regarding concert ticket refunds.
