Goodlettsville, TN/Grass Valley, CA — The mega chain Dollar General revealed an environmental twist on its products this week. They will feature, Sticky Fingers, a line of baby toys with real human fingers attached.
“Occasionally, there are accidents and fingers come off, ” a spokesman for Dollar General announced. “We’ve decided to change our way of thinking and not to expect perfection from child laborers but rather to consider, how can we turn a profit on this perceived loss. It’s sustainability. The factories used to throw out the toys and the fingers stuck to them. It was such a waste.”
The company remarked that child-size fingers are easy and comforting for babies to hold. DG has incorporated the severed extremities into the Sticky Fingers toys such as The Finger Singer, Pinky Pets and Digits Drum Set. Scientists in China are working on a food source, Handy Candy that Dollar General hopes to launch in 2015.
Dollar General is known for bringing unquestionably inexpensive items to communities that are too small to support a Wal-Mart or locally owned businesses. Dollar General has its fingers crossed that it will thrive in the Nevada County area because market research has shown shoppers want bargain prices while maintaining the feeling that they respect the planet.
